Optimex has recently developed a new pump design mainly suitable for high temperature applications.
This innovative and patented system is similar to a conventional canned motor pump, however with some adjustments.
The machine is split in 3 zones: the motor part, the hydraulic part and between both parts a separation area. This separation is a thermal barrier between the motor and the process. Consequently this technique allows to have a high fluid temperature (higher than 400°C) without overheating the motor. The maximum admissible temperature of the process is hereby limited to the mechanical behavior of the material used for the hydraulic casing. Moreover, for a better protection and to prevent a rise of the liquid, the motor’s area is over-pressured with a neutral gas like nitrogen.
Several checkpoints on one canned motor pump.
To control a proper functioning of the pump, it is possible to add several instrumentations such as a monitoring of the winding’s temperature or an element with electro valves to verify the pressure balance between the motor and the hydraulic. A control of the mobile’s position is also possible to assure a proper balance of the mobile while working.
